More Aglianico trivia

The “About Aglianico” page provides the basic nitty-gritty about Aglianico as a grape and a wine. But, it’s good to know a few more obscure tidbits and factoids about this special variety.

Aglianico is believed to be the grape used in Falerian wine – the ancient Roman’s top-ranked red wine. It is hard to know this for sure, but the wine was not red and wine historians suggest wines of that time were white, made from either white grapes or red grapes pressed before fermentation.
